Human Resource Manager

We are looking to bring on a strong, detail oriented, and enthusiastic leader to join our familial culture. This role will lead the overall HR function, with a focus on the employee life cycle, compliance and benefits. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with management to support and make recommendations for resolution of employee relations issues
  • Own, manage and maintain all aspects of the recruiting process
  • Facilitates and implements new hire orientation training programs for the workforce based on identified training needs and requested training program
  • Prepares and maintains accurate job descriptions and position titles
  • Writes and places advertisements, utilizing current appropriate media outlets (i.e. Internet job boards, job fairs, advertising in bulletins, industry publications, LinkedIn, Facebook, social media, etc.)
  • Partners with management across all location on performance management
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment (i.e. DOL, OSHA, FLSA, Anti-Harassment/Discrimination, etc.) and stay current on employee laws and regulations
  • Responsible for the offboarding of employees, including employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Maintain all Spa licenses and run any required reports on a regular basis
  • Performs all benefits administration to ensure compliance and administer the 401k in accordance with ERISA rules
  • Ensures the company paid time off programs are administered fairly and in compliance with company policy
  • Supports the Company’s retention efforts through creation of employee communication

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related business field preferred or 3+ years’ experience in a human resources position
  • PHR Certification and SHRM-CP Certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a proven generalist in a Human Resources Department
  • Knowledge and experience processing Payroll, specifically ADP
  • Exercise great degree of discretion with employee and confidential information
  • Possess high level of organizational skill, clear public speaking skills to address groups, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to formulate and implement decisions
  • Strong customer service skills, including timely response to user’s inquiries and/or complaints
  • Proficient with MS Office and possess outstanding Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, and good judgment
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and work rapidly to set priorities while still have high quality deliverables and strong follow through

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.; periodic walking or standing
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and must be able to walk at the spa locations
  • Local travel to meetings, training and to different spa locations is required

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Evaluations will be done on an annual basis. Salary increases are based on individual and company performance
